The 15th-ranked Seattle University women's soccer team took advantage of an early mistake by Montana State Billings, then scored three times in the second half to pull away with a 4-0 victory Saturday afternoon in GNAC action.

After a couple of delays and a change in venue due to unplayable field conditions at the original site, the 15th-ranked Seattle University women’s soccer team took advantage of an early mistake by Montana State Billings, then scored three times in the second half to pull away with a 4-0 victory Saturday afternoon in GNAC action.

In the 24th minute, Montana State Billings (7-5-1, 4-3-1 GNAC) committed a foul in the box, enabling to take a penalty kick. Maryann Boddy () converted on the chance for her first goal of the season. ’s offense continued to pressure the Yellowjacket defense, as M'ily Reiter (), in front of family and friends, had three scoring chances in the last 12 minutes of the first half, with one shot blocked and two more saved by goalie Jordan Fenwick.

Montana State Billings had its best chances early in the second half, as the Yellowjackets took what would be their only three shots on goal in an 11-minute period. goalie Kaitlyn Jackson () did not let a shot past her, earning her ninth shutout of the season. Fenwick finished the match with seven saves for the Yellowjackets.

’s offense kicked into gear in the last 22 minutes of the match, starting with a goal by Madison Collins (, ), who converted on a header off a corner kick from Ashley Porter (). In the 78th minute, Boddy sent a cross into the box, where Leah Wymer () bounced a header past Fenwick for her 13th goal of the season. Finally, with five minutes remaining, Boddy and Porter set up Jamie Coe () for her second goal of the year.

With her two assists in this match, Porter now has 13 assists so far this season, one off the GNAC single-season record she set in 2005 and tied in 2006. She is also one assist away from tying Jamie French for most career assists in school history. Meanwhile, Wymer scored her 40th career goal Saturday, tying Trisha Tateyama for third on ’s all-time goals list.

Seattle University (11-2, 6-1 GNAC) begins the second half of the conference season Wednesday, Oct. 10, hosting Western Washington at Championship Field beginning at 3 p.m.
