The Seattle University men’s and women’s soccer teams both moved up into the top 16 of their respective national coaches polls, while members of both teams appear in the NCAA statistical rankings and the SU women’s cross country team moves into the top ten of its regional rankings.

After victories over Saint Martin’s and last week, the women’s soccer team moved up from 19th to 16th in this week’s NSCAA/adidas national coaches poll. The Redhawks are second in the Far West Region poll, behind only Seattle Pacific. In the team NCAA statistical rankings, Seattle University is second in both goals against average (0.25) and shutout percentage (0.75), seventh in won-lost-tied percentage (.875), 16th in save percentage (.882), and 21st in scoring offense (3.0).

Individually, Ashley Porter () is second in Division II in assists with 1.0 assists per game. Leah Wymer () finds herself 16th in the country in points per game (2.63) and 21st in goals per game (1.125). Goalie Kaitlyn Jackson () is fifth in Division II in goals against average (0.25) and 26th in save percentage (.882).

Even though the only match for the week was a loss to Montana State Billings, the men’s soccer team moved up six spots in the NSCAA/adidas national poll, from 21st to 15th. As in the women’s regional poll, the men are in second place behind only Seattle Pacific in the regional poll.

Nationally, the Redhawk men are 28th in Division II in goals against average (0.71), 37th in shutout percentage (0.43), 45th in won-lost-tied percentage (.714), and 57th in save percentage. Individually, goalie Emerson DeOliveira () is 27th in Division II in goals against average (0.75) and 85th in save percentage (.727). Dustin Allbery () is presently 83rd in the country in assists per game (0.43).

Finally, the Seattle University women’s cross country team has broken into the USTFCCA West Regional rankings, ranked ninth in this week’s poll after last Friday’s fourth place finish at the Pier Park Invitational.

The mission of the athletics department is to champion the holistic development of student-athletes inspiring a vital and engaged campus community through the development and maintenance of a premier, nationally prominent NCAA Division II athletics program, in the spirit of the Jesuit tradition. The university is in the process by which it will become a Division I member of the NCAA.
