After winning both matches by a combined 7-0 score, placed six women’s soccer players on the Seawolf Classic All-Tournament Team, making up half of the squad selected by the head coaches of the four teams in the tournament.

Ashley Porter () earned five assists over the weekend, setting a new GNAC record for most assists in a career. Porter now has 39 assists, passing Tafara Pulse’s 37 for the most in GNAC history as well as second-most in history. The 2006 All-American is now nine assists behind Jamie French for the SU career assists record.

Leah Wymer (, ) picked up three goals in the two matches, including the team’s first goal of the season just 4:36 into the first match of the year against . After earning just one assist last season, sophomore Kate Edstrom (, ) already picked up two assists so far this season, plus her defense was important to shutting out its first two opponents.

Goalie Kaitlyn Jackson (, ) earned her ninth and tenth career shutouts over the weekend, making six saves, including five in Saturday’s match against . Madison Collins (, ) was one of the defenders who helped make the shutouts possible, plus she assisted on ’s first goal on Saturday. Jasmine Wilson (SeaTac, ) scored ’s third goal of the match on Saturday, plus she was a presence in the midfield all weekend.

Seattle University (2-0), the 17th-ranked team in the country, travels to face Chico State Tuesday, August 28, beginning at 7 p.m. The squad faces Cal State Stanislaus in its home opener Thursday, August 30, at 4 p.m. at Championship Field.
