Sarah Finney began her tenure as the Athletics' Director of Communications in August 2016, was promoted to Associate AD for Strategic Communication in March 2019 and Senior Associate AD, External Relations in July 2026. She also began serving as Seattle University's Senior Woman Administrator in June 2025.
Finney is responsible for directing, planning and implementing all external relations aspects of Seattle University Athletics Department – including, but not limited to marketing and promotions, tickets, media relations, and internet, radio and television integration, while also serving as a member of the Department’s senior leadership team.
She came to Seattle U after five years as an Athletics Communications Manager at Loyola Marymount University and, prior to that, spent one year at the Ivy League. She also spent time on the athletic communications staff's at CSU Bakersfield and Humboldt State University.
Finney graduated from Humboldt State University with a degree in journalism/public relations.
