This marks Thomas' second stint in the Redhawk athletics department, having served as an intern from October 2018-June 2019 while pursuing his master's degree at the University of Washington.
Thomas rejoins the Redhawks after spending the last year as an Assistant Academic Counselor with University of Michigan Athletics. He worked with students from the football, women's basketball, wrestling, women's rowing and women's tennis teams, creating individualized academic plans, assisting with scheduling, eligibility, tutoring, mentoring and progress-towards-degree programs, among other duties.
A double graduate of the University of Washington, Thomas earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and anthropology in 2018. He went on to earn his Master's of Education degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership in 2019.
Thomas served as a Student Athlete Support Assistant with Seattle U while in graduate school. He assisted with a variety of academic services while working directly with men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis and women's rowing.
Thomas was a four-year letterwinner on the Huskies track and field team. Primarily a 400m runner, he was a member of the 4x400m relay team that placed third at the 2017 Pac-12 Championships and advanced to the NCAA Prelims. Thomas was also a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention selection.
