Mai Nguyen joined the Seattle U athletics department in January 2014 as the Athletics Director of Finance/CFO, overseeing all matters relating to budgets, fiscal performance and planning, business operations, and financial aid.
Prior to Seattle U, Nguyen served as the Director of Finance and Operations for the Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, managing daily operations, overseeing fiscal and budget management, directing compliance programs, and supporting the board and executive director, among many other duties.
Before her six-year tenure at Susan G. Komen, Nguyen also worked as a Program Manager for the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, a Program Manager for the Annie E. Casey Foundation/NAC, a Resident Services Coordinator for the Seattle Housing Authority, and the Executive Director for the International District Housing Alliance.
Nguyen received the ACLF Kip Tokuda Award from the Asian Pacific Islander Community Leadership Foundation in Nov. 2012 and the Community Voice Award from the International Examiner in May 2007.
She graduated from the University of Washington with both a B.S. in Political Science and Government (1994) and Master of Public Administration in Urban Studies/Affairs (1996).
