Katherine Kubancik finished her fifth season within the Seattle University men's and women's swim program as an assistant coach.
Kubancik had been a coach for the Meadows Club Swim Team in Boulder, Colo., as well as conducting private swim lessons and training with world class triathletes. She worked in the communications department at a top athletic facility and was an athlete agent with American Recreation Products.
At the University of Idaho, Kubancik was a three-time All-WAC Scholar-Athlete and was voted captain of the swimming and diving team in her junior season. She was an all-around swimmer with stroke emphasis on the 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke, and 200 and 400 IMs, plus she was a conference semifinalist during her time with the Vandals. She graduated from Idaho with a bachelor's degree in business marketing.
Kubancik has been a competitive swimmer for over 16 years, including her time at Fairview High School in Boulder, Colo., where she was an All-America and All-County swimmer and helped her squad win the state title.
