Heeman joined the Seattle University sports medicine staff during the summer of 2023. She works directly with men's and women's cross country and track and field.
Heeman made the move to the Emerald City after spending three years at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.
During her tenure with Gonzaga, Heeman worked primarily with men's soccer and women's tennis, cross country and track programs. A 2012 graduate of Washington State, Heeman earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Athletic Training, while serving as an athletic training intern with the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs. Heeman later obtained her Master's in Public Administration with a concentration in Health Administration from Portland State in 2017, serving as the graduate assistant for athletic training for two years. Heeman spearheaded treatment and care for the volleyball team.
Outside of collegiate athletics, Heeman has served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Scappose High School (2018-19) and Scottsdale Christian Academy (2013-15) and as the collaborative liaison at Providence Children's Health Services (2017-18).
"To say we are excited about Jackie would be an understatement," said Pfau. "Jackie comes to us with a wealth of clinical experience, making impactful stops at Portland, WSU and most recently Gonzaga. Between these, she did stints at high schools and clinical settings which exemplify her ability to effectively communicate and follow up with multiple parities about complicated cases. Along with being a phenomenal person, she knows what it takes to align with our healthcare team and maintain the highest quality of care on many levels."
