David W. Arnesen, professor in the Albers School of Business and Economics, serves as the Faculty Athletic Representative for Seattle University. Professor Arnesen is in his 31st year at Seattle University and brings a deep commitment to academic excellence.
In 2014 Professor Arnesen was selected as a Fulbright Specialist. Professor Arnesen has also been named MBA Professor of the Year seven times and Undergraduate Business Professor of the Year five times in the Albers School of Business. In 2007, he received the University Distinguished Teaching Award from the Seattle University Alumni Association.
His teaching expertise includes negotiations, international business, business ethics, competitive strategy, and real estate. He regularly teaches internationally in the areas of negotiations and business ethics.
Professor Arnesen holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the Seattle University School of Law. His articles have appeared in several publications, including the American Business Law Journal, the Journal of Legal Studies Education, the Academy of Management Executive, and the Journal of Law, Business & Ethics.
Professor Arnesen currently chairs Seattle University’s sports gender equity committee. In his role as Faculty Athletic Representative, Professor Arnesen will serve on the Athletics Advisory Board, administer the NCAA recruiting tests taken by the department’s coaches, assist the athletic department with academic matters and serve as one of the university’s designated representatives to the NCAA and Western Athletic Conference.
