Cheryl Sorenson served on Suzy Barcomb's staff from the summer of 2021 to the end of the 2023 season.
Prior to joining Seattle U, she was the Co-Head Coach at Everett Community College. Prior to that, she was the head coach at the University of Portland for five seasons.
Sorenson graduated from the University of Washington in 2003 with degrees in both communications and psychology. She was a team captain during her junior and senior campaigns, helping lead UW to two NCAA Tournaments, including the 2001 Regional Final, and a pair of WNIT berths. She claimed Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention accolades during her final year at UW.
"Cheryl brings a wealth of experience with her and will be a natural fit with our coaching staff," said Barcomb. "I've known her for many years and throughout the hiring process we've had great conversations."
