Caroline Austin comes from a long line of collegiate athletes. Right out of high school at W.F. West in Chehalis, Wash., Austin started her own college running career in 2009 at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. At WSU, she took her running serious and was a leader both on and off the training tracks and trails. She trained all types of athletes in the training facility at WSU, and led the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams as team captain. Austin holds the 3000-meter steeplechase record at WSU, and has some clocked competitive times in the 800-meter, 1500-meter and 5000-meter. Austin received her bachelor's degree in kinesiology with a minor in psychology in 2013 and stayed on for another full year to coach cross country, indoor and outdoor track at her alma mater. Her PRs include: 2:12 in the 800-meter, 4:29 in the 1500-meter, 9:32 in the 3K, and 10:08 in steeplechase. Her cross country 6K PR is 21:02. Austin joined the Seattle University coaching staff in the fall of 2014.
