Brian Vail became the Assistant Communications Director in October 2016. He works as the primary contact for women's basketball, men's soccer, women's soccer and softball.
Vail worked previously at Binghamton (NY) University, serving as an Assistant Athletics Communications Director under John Hartrick. Vail was the primary contact for volleyball, wrestling, men's lacrosse, and women's tennis in his time at Binghamton (Feb. 2015-Oct. 2016). He also helped produce live events on BUBearcats.TV and promoted Bearcat athletics through social media.
Before Binghamton, Vail worked at Mercyhurst (PA) University for over three years, covering men's basketball, women's basketball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, field hockey, volleyball, men's water polo, and women's water polo. While at Mercyhurst, he served as the Media Coordinator at the 2014 NCAA Field Hockey Championships in Virginia.
Vail is a 2008 graduate of Ashland (OH) University, where he worked for Al King in the sports information office while majoring in sport communication and journalism. Vail earned a Master's in Public Administration at Gannon (PA) University in 2010, working as a graduate assistant under Dan Teliski.
