Brendan Heitz

Brendan Heitz joined Seattle University in the Fall of 2021 as the Assistant Director of Operations. He was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in October 2023. Heitz provides general operational support for the athletics department in addition to his responsibilities with the facilities & game operations team. In this role Heitz provides assistance to the Director of Athletics on special projects, leads game day operations for Baseball, Golf, Swimming, Volleyball and Championship events, and manages day to day facility upkeep in addition to other departmental responsibilities including employee onboarding and business operations assistance.

Prior to joining Seattle University Heitz worked for three years at Duke University in Athletic Facilities, Game Operations and Championships. His time at Duke included game day operations oversight for Fencing, Rowing, Tennis & Wrestling in addition to secondary manager roles with Football and Men’s Basketball overseeing Entry Operations and as the Front of House manager for Women’s Basketball. In this role Heitz gained valuable experience with Emergency Management and venue safety and security operations for events of various sizes. Heitz played a role in the successful bids for the 2023 NCAA Fencing and 2025 NCAA Field Hockey championships while working closely with the Durham Sports Commission.

Heitz received his master’s degree in Sport Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he served as the Event Management Graduate Assistant. Prior to UNC, he got his start in athletics while attending the University of Oklahoma, where he served as a marketing intern for 3 years.

Heitz is from Austin, Texas. He and his wife, Natalie, reside in Seattle, WA.
