Alex Rider joined the Seattle U staff in the summer of 2021 as the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Experience.
Rider returns to Seattle U after five years as the Senior Manager of Volunteers with Special Olympics Washington. A 2014 University of Oregon graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration, he earned a Master of Business Administration in Sports and Entertainment Management at Seattle U in 2017 while also serving as a Marketing and Promotions Assistant in the athletics department.
Rider had a stint with the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games as the event's Volunteer Manager, recruiting 15,000 volunteers across 20 states and four countries in a three-month period. At Special Olympics Washington, he maintained a volunteer base of 12,000, managed all volunteer communication, engagement and training efforts.
