Creighton University: Nakaoka had a 7-9 overall record at Creighton, including a 4-4 singles record. She also won the Omaha Collegiate Invitational B Flight Singles competition in her one year at the school and also earned the school's Student-Athlete Award .
Punahou School: Nakaoka spent four years on the varsity tennis team at Punahou, winning the state doubles championship her junior year and making the state qualifying tournament in singles her freshman year. As a senior, she was named second-team all-conference in singles and earned the school's Student-Athlete award. In addition to her athletic recognition, Nakaoka made the Dean's List all four years in school and also was a member of the Hui O Nani Hawaii, Japanese Student Association, and Society of Women Engineers.
Personal: Full name Nicole Michiko Nakaoka. Her parents are Debbie and Ben Nakaoka, and she has younger sister named Ashley. Nakaoka is a civil-environmental engineering major and wants to pursue a career in that field after college. When not playing tennis, she enjoys learning about and experiencing different cultures.
