On Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 in Husky Invitational, Gant swam the 200 yard Backstroke in 2:15.95, placed 87th ... anchored the 400 Freestyle Relay in 3:48.06, finished 49th ... took the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:45.27, taking 69th ... finished the 200 yard Freestyle in 2:02.74, placing 159th ... swam the 800 yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 8:02.63, taking 31th.
On Oct 20 at CSU Bakersfield, Gant swam 200 yard Freestyle with a relay of 2:01.61 and took 3rd place ... swam the 200 yard IM in 2:14.97 and ranked 5th.
At Idaho Oct. 13, Gant took fourth in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:15.95 ... swam the lead leg for the sixth-place 200 yard medley relay team in 30.50 (relay time of 1:58.28) ... finished 200 yard IM in 2:17.28, placing sixth.
On Oct 12 at Washington State, Gant finished the 100 yard Backstroke in 1:03.74, taking 5th place ... swam the 200 yard Back with a time of 2:14.02 and ranked 4th ... finished 400 yard IM with a relay of 4:49.95, taking 6th place.
2011-12: At Boise State (Oct. 14-15), swam third leg in 400 medley relay with a split of 1:01.92 ... finished 100 butterfly in 1:01.23, taking 10th ... swam 200 IM in 2:15.79.
In a home meet against UC Davis and Idaho on October 22, swam in the ninth-place 200 medley relay team (relay time of 1:55.01) ... swam the 200 freestyle, finishing tenth in 2:19.74 ... swam the 200 backstroke in 2:15.42, finishing in tenth-place ... finished tenth in the 200 indiividual medley with a time of 2:15.67.
At Oregon State University on October 29, placed fifth in the 400 Medley Relay (relay time of 4:13.00)...swam the 200 Backstroke in 2:15.03...placed seventh in the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 1:02.05... took fourth in the 200 Freestyle Relay with a relay time of 1:44.41.
In a meet at the University of the Pacific, on Nov. 4, Gant swam the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:02.13...took 6th in the 200 butterfly in 2:15.00...placed 7th in the 200 freestyle relay with a relay time of 1:49.07...On Nov. 5, she finished 7th in the 400 medley relay with a relay time of 4:12.14...took 8th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:17.85...took 6th in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:15.62...competed in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:02.67.
At the University of Denver on November 12, Gant finished twelvth in the 200 Freestlye with a time of 2:03.90 ... finished thirteenth in the 200 Butterfly in 2:19.70 ... finished with the sixth place team in the 400 Freestyle relay (relay time of 3:53.68).
On Nov. 19, in a home meet against Boise State, Gant took 6th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:16.25.
In home dual meet versus Simon Fraser (Jan. 20), swam second leg of third-place 200 yard freestyle relay in 26.16 (relay time 1:45.18) ... fourth in 200 IM with time of 2:14.94 ... swam 200 fly in 2:17.09.
In home meet versus Simon Fraser and Washington State (Jan. 21), swam 400 yard IM in 4:44.20 ... swam 100 back in 1:03.55 ... swam lead leg in 400 free relay in 57.85 (relay time 4:00.39).
High School: Gant was a four year varsity swimmer at Prosser High School. She won seven district championships, competed in the state 11 times, and twice was a runner-up at state. She was named All-Area and All-Conference all for years and in 2009 she was named the 2009 2A Eastern Washington Swimmer of the Year. She was the Mustags' MVP all four years and acted as Team Captain junior and senior years. She set school records in the 100 free, 200 free, 200 IM, 100 back, 100 fly, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay and set district records in the 200 IM and 100 fly.
Club Experience: Gant swam with the Tri City Channel Cats for seven years. She helped the team win the Eastern Washington Championships 2007-2011 and was named Most Improved for the 2010-2011 season.
Personal: Full name is Mackenzie Lanae Gant. Her parents are Becky and Casey Gant, and she has a younger sibling named Taylor. Her father played baseball at Eastern Washington University. She is majoring in marketing. Along with swimming, she is particularly fond of traveling.
