High School: Kirsila attended International School but competed for the Newport High School Knights, helping the team win the district title in 2010. A team captain in both her junior and senior seasons, she was named first team all-conference in 2009 and second team all-conference in 2010. Off the course, she was the director of fundraising for Junior Statesmen of America as well as a two-year captain of her Relay for Life squad.
Personal: Kirsila is the daughter of Jim Kirsila and has a younger brother, Jimmy. Born June 11, 1992, she is majoring in psychology with eyes on pursuing a career as a pediatrician.
