2007: Appearing in 18 matches before missing the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, Powell led the team with a .248 hitting percentage, 12 solo blocks, 77 block assists, and 89 total blocks. She also was third on the squad with 146 kills. She set new school single-match records with seven solo blocks at Northwest Nazarene on Sept. 8, and 12 block assists and total blocks at Alaska Fairbanks on Sept. 22. Her 12 solo blocks and 89 total blocks are second in a single season in SU history, while her 77 block assists place her third on the all-time single season list in that category. She reached double figures in kills six times, with a career-high of 19 kills at Northwest Nazarene on Sept. 8. She also posted 16 service aces during the season, including a season-high of four aces against Saint Martin's on Sept. 15.

2006: Powell appeared in 18 matches, starting seven for the Redhawks in 2006. Powell had a season high 16 kills in a win over Central Washington on November 2. Powell had a kills per game average of 2.09 on the season, fourth best for Seattle.

Emerald Ridge HS: Powell was a first team All-South Puget Sound League in 2005. After a fourth place finish in 2004, her 2005 team went undefeated in league competition, finishing in third place finish in state. She also competed in track & field and basketball. In track, Emily won Emerald Ridge's Jag Award (2004-05), finishing eighth in state competition for low hurdles in 2004 and 2005.

Personal: Born July 25, 1988, Powell is the daughter of Tommy and Sue Powell. She is majoring in nursing.
