2021 Outdoor: Academic All-WAC... ran a season best of 52.36 in the 400m at the Fresno State Invitational... apart of the 4x400m relay team that ran a 3:27.46 at the WAC Championship.
2020 Indoor: Academic All-WAC… at the WAC Indoor Championships, took seventh place in the 400m finals with a time of 49.85, previously setting a new personal record (and sixth-best WAC mark of the season) of 49.31 in the preliminaries for that event… at that meet, also scored as part of the 4x400m relay team, posting a combined time of 3:29.84… at the Idaho Team Challenge, set a new personal record in the 200m dash with his time of 22.64… ran the 400m dash in 49.81 at the UW Invitational… set a Chiles Center record in the 400m dash at the Portland Indoor One with his time of 50.35.
2019 Outdoor: Academic All-WAC... had the 16th-best time in the WAC for the outdoor 400m dash at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a personal-best 50.39… ran the 400m dash in 51.04 at the St. Martin’s Jay Hammer Invitational… with the 4x100m relay team, took fifth place with a time of 43.22 at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic… at the Doris Heritage Track Festival, ran a personal-best 23.58 in the 200m dash.
2019 Indoor: Academic All-WAC... had a personal-best 50.58 in the 400m dash at the WAC Indoor Track and Field Championships… posted a time of 51.61 in the 400m dash at the Last Chance College Elite.
Gonzalez finished his high school career on a strong note, reaching the Sac-Joaquin DII-DIII finals in 2017 and taking the section championship in 2018… posted personal best times in each of his last five 200m races… along with his teammates, Gonzalez holds the Rio Americano High School record for the 4x100m relay… in addition to track, he boasts several accomplishments from his time on the basketball team, where he received the Coach’s Award as a freshman and Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore… Rio Americano won the Capital Athletic League Championships in his first and third year, with Gonzalez making the all-tournament team as a junior… Due to their success, RAHS later appeared in the first round of the California State NorCal playoffs.
Zach Gonzalez plans to study math and physics during his time at Seattle University… his father Louis rowed for men’s crew at UC Berkeley.
