Mat Strum graduated from Linfield College in 2009, where he was a stand out track athlete. Strum was 5-time Northwest Conference Champion (200, 400, 4x100, 4x400 x2).
He originally coached at Seattle University for the 2010-11 season and returned again for the 2015-16 season. Strum spent time doing private coaching between his stints with Seattle U.
