2020 Indoor: At the Portland Indoor Two, ran the mile in 4:33.55.
2019 Cross Country: At the NCAA Division I West Region Cross Country Championships, finished the 10k race in 32:10.6… posted a time of 26:37.2 at the Western Athletic Conference XC Championships… at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, had an 8k time of 25:07.1, a personal best… finished the 8k race in 25:32.7 at the John Payne/Curtis XC Invitational, good for 11th place in the field.
UM: A member of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) Cross Country USA National U20 Men’s Team, Ali competed at the 2017 World Championships in Kampala, Uganda, and finished in 52nd place… finished in third place at the USA Track and Field 2017 Junior Men Cross Country Championships with an 8k time of 26:15… competed at the University of Minnesota from 2016-2019… three-time Big Ten All-Academic First Team member… placed first in the 5k run at the 2019 Tomcat Twilight… had a personal-best time of 4:26.23 in the Snowshoe Open mile run… in 2018, had an outdoor 5k time of 14:22.92 at the Drake Relays, good for eighth place and a personal record… at the Baldy Castillo Invitational, set a PR of 3:53.48 in the 1500m run… finished with a personal-best indoor 3k run time of 8:16.33 at the Iowa State Classic… at the 2017 NCAA Division I Midwest Region Cross Country Championships, set a PR in the 10k run of 30:01.8… as an unattached runner, took first place in the 2017 Bear Cat Twilight 5k race… also finished first in the Holst Invitational 1500m run… also won the Tomcat Twilight 5k race… came in first place in the Snowshoe Open 3k run… finished second in the 3k run at the Minnesota Open.
High School: Ali was a two-time All-State honoree at Washburn High School as well as a 13-time All-Minneapolis City Conference and All-City selection… three-time Minneapolis City Conference Champion (won the 1600m titles in 2015 and 2016, as well as the 3200m title in 2016)… earned 11 total letters, with five in track and field, four in cross country and two in wrestling… Washburn won the state cross country championship in 2015 and 2016… Washburn also won the track and field state championship every year from 2013-16… possesses the school record for the 1600m run (4:13.48) and the 3200m run (9:13.43).
Hamza Ali is a Physics major at Seattle University… in high school, he was honored with the Superintendent Coin of Excellence, and earned the All-City Academic Athletic Award.
