Point Loma Nazarene: Poplawski was named track athlete of the year in 2014 and posted an all-time top 10 time in the 800 meter run. She was named to the PacWest Academic All-Conference Team in both cross country and track and field, and she served as the cross country representative within the school's SAAC.
High School: Poplawski competed on the varsity cross country and track and field teams all four years at Newport High School, serving as cross country team captain once and track and field team captain twice. She finished in fifth place in the 800 meter run at the 2012 4A WIAA state meet, and she set the school record in the 800 meter run during the 2012 season.
Personal: Poplawski is the youngest child of Karyn and David Poplawski, and she has two older brothers named Andrew and Alex. She is majoring in sport and exercise science.
