Ron Atkins joins the Seattle U staff as an assistant track and field coach in the spring season of 2024. Prior to joining Seattle U, Atkins has worked as a level 1 and level 2 USATF track and field coach. Atkins is also the owner and operator of Full Circle Athletics, a fitness training facility located in Tacoma, WA. Atkins has also worked as a coach for the Kitsap Fliers club team, which is a USATF youth club organization in Kitsap County. Atkins attended Bremerton High School, where he was a three year varsity athlete in both football and track and field. He has had many personal accomplishments in his personal track and field career, including 200m state champion, masters all-american (48x), masters indoor long jump champion (3x), and masters indoor triple jump champion.
