High School: Rodriguez-Nilsen was a four-year varsity starter at Central Kitsap High School. He helped lead the Cougars to four state playoff appearances, including playing in the Championship match in 2012 after clinching a 20-1 record that year. He earned All-League Honorable Mention his freshman year, Second Team All-League his sophomore year, and First Team All-League his junior year. In his Senior year he again earned First Team All-League honors and was the Narrows League top scorer, Narrows League MVP, and Washington State 4A MVP. He tallied 30 goals and 12 assists that year, endinghis high school career with 60 total goals.

Club Experience: Rodriguez-Nilsen played for multiple club teams, most recently the U17/U18 Sounders FC Academy, which he helped that team reach the national semi-finals. He also played for U11/U13 Westsound FC, U13/U15 Northwest Nationals, U15/U16 Washington Premier Academy, and the U16/U17 Sounders FC Academy.
