2010-2011 Season: Finished in 53rd place with a cumulative score of 155 (+11) at the Thunderbird Invite ... shot a 36-hole total of 165 (+21) to finish in 78th place at the Snowman Getaway ... for the season John shot an average of 80.
Gonzaga University: Payton attended the Jesuit school in Spokane from 2007 to 2009.
Eastlake HS: Payton was a three-time All-KingCo honoree as well as team captain for the Wolves in the 2006-07 season. He won the WIAA Scholar Excellence Award during his high school career. In the classroom, Payton was a member of the National Honor Society, a project manager for the DECA Marketing Club, and an honor roll student.
Personal: Payton is the oldest child of David and Jill Payton and has two younger siblings: Scott and Natalie. Born May 6, 1989, he is majoring in accounting with eyes on becoming a CPA.
