High School: Nathan was a four-year letterwinner in cross country, a three-year letterwinner in track and field, and a one-year letterwinner in swimming at Puyallup High School. He earned first team all-league honors in both 2009 and 2010 before being named All-SPSL Athlete of the Year for cross country in 2011. In the classroom, he was ranked first in his class with a 4.0 GPA and also served as vice president of the school's chapter of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Nathan is the youngest son of Alan and Florence McLaughlin, and he has two older siblings named Alix and Bryan. He is majoring in general science.
