Linfield College: During his freshman season, O'Neil was Linfield's top finisher at both the Northwest Conference Cross Country Championships and the NCAA Cross Country West Region Championships. In track and field, he registered a fifth-place finish in the 1500 meter run at the 2014 Northwest Conference Championships. During the 2014 cross country season, he was the team's top finisher in four of the season's first five meets before missing the rest of the year due to injury.
High School: O'Neil lettered four times in cross country and track at Bishop Blanchet High School. He also competed in soccer. During his high school career, he received most inspirational, most valuable player and coaches awards.
Personal: O'Neil is the youngest son of Terrance and Elizabeth O'Neil, and he has two older siblings named Helen and Charley. He is majoring in philosophy, and he is a Douglass Fellow in the Frederick Douglass Forum on Law, Rights and Justice.
