2020 Indoor: All-WAC Second Team… at the WAC Indoor Championships, won bronze with the distance medley relay team, finishing the race with a combined 12:19.11… also competed in the 3k run at that meet… set a new personal record in the 3k at the UW Invitational with a time of 19:15.48… took third in the mile run with her time of 5:10.97 at the Portland Indoor One… set a new PR of 5:10.29 in the mile run at the UW Preview.
2019 Cross Country: Finished the 6k in 22:29.9 at the NCAA Division I West Region Cross Country Championships… at the Western Athletic Conference XC Championships, posted a 6k time of 23:09.49… set a new personal record in the 6k run with a time of 22:12.4 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational… placed fifth in the three-mile run at the John Payne/Curtis XC Invitational with a time of 18:08.1… at the UW-Seattle U Dual Meet, finished the three-mile race in 17:48.0.
High School: Griffin earned four varsity letters for track and field, three letters for cross country and three letters for soccer at Franklin High School… owns the Franklin school records for the 5k run (18:05.3), cross country 3k run (10:47.6), track and field 3k run (9:59.17), 2k steeplechase (7:23.00) and 1500m run (4:36.48)… also was part of the school-record distance medley relay and 4x400m relay teams… made Second Team All-State for cross country in 2018… also made 2019 First Team All-District for the 4x400m event, 2019 Second Team All-District for the 1500m and 3k runs and 2018 First Team All-District for cross country… inducted to the Franklin Cross Country Hall of Fame in 2019… inducted to the Franklin Track and Field Hall of Fame in 2019… 2018-19 Portland Interscholastic League Franklin Sportswoman of the Year… 2019 Mel Fox Scholarship winner… 2019 Franklin Track and Field Most Valuable Athlete… 2017, 2018 and 2019 Franklin Track and Field Female Distance Runner of the Year… 2016 and 2018 Franklin Cross Country Female Runner of the Year… Team Captain on Franklin’s cross country team in 2017 and 2018… Distance Team Captain for the Franklin track and field team in 2018 and 2019… 2017 Multnomah Athletic Club Scholar Athlete for Franklin… qualified for State in 2016 and 2018 for cross country… took 13th place in the 5k at those 2018 championships… qualified for State in 2017 and 2019 for track and field… placed fifth in the 3k run and seventh in the 1500m run at those 2019 championships… took first place out of 148 at the 2018 Nike Portland XC Meet… also represented Oregon in the 2018 Nike Border Clash.
Personal: Delaney Griffin is majoring in Biology at Seattle University and aspires to become an orthopedic surgeon… was the Valedictorian at Franklin High… was also a participant in the Advanced Scholars Program and a four-year Honor Roll member… her father Matthew ran on the cross country and track and field teams at California Lutheran University… her brother Connor currently runs for both teams at Cal Lutheran.
