High School: Carns posted an 8-0 record while pitching for the Decatur High School Gators, earning All-Conference honors. He helped the Gators to a fifth place finish in the 3A state baseball tournament.
Personal: Carns is the oldest child of John and Tina Carns, and he has a younger sister named Nicole. Born Nov. 16, 1995, he is a pre-major.
