High School: Ryan was a three-year varsity letterwinner for the Skyline High School Spartans. He had batting averages of .421 in 2008 and .424 in 2009. Ryan was the team MVP in 2008, and captain in 2009.

Personal: Born on November 23, 1990, Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and is now enrolled in the Bridge Master of Business Administration program. His parents are Beth and John Somers, and his brother is Nathan Somers.
