High School: Brand spent four years on the Stadium High varsity baseball team, starting for three of them. He helped lead the squad to the league and district playoffs both his junior and senior years, and earned First Team All-League as an outfielder as a sophomore, junior, and senior. Brand also swam on the varsity swim team senior year, helping the squad win the state championship.
Personal: Full name Austen Patrick Brand. Parents are Esperanza and Patrick Brand, and he has an older brother named Zachary. Brand is a mechanical engineering major and wants to be a structural engineer after graduation. He enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and hiking and would like to compete in Crossfit competitions in the future.
