SEATTLE - The Seattle University men's golf team will head to California for its final tournament of the fall season this week, when they take on the Saint Mary's Invitational at Seaside, Calif. The tournament, hosted by Saint Mary's College, will take place October 19-21 at the Bayonet Golf Course, with a staggered start from 8:20 to 10:44 a.m. PDT all three days of competition.
Competing for the Redhawks will be Cade McVicker, Jacob Kang, Elliot Ro, Burly Hildreth and Kevin Li.
Last week at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, freshman McVicker had the best tournament of his budding career, coming in sixth place, powered by his career-low round of -4 under, 68 in the first round.
Kang has continued to be a steady presence for the Redhawks, finishing just outside the top 25 last week with a best round of -1 under, 71 in the final round.
Fellow freshman Ro had a strong start to the season coming in third place while competing in Japan, and has remained a solid team contributor throughout the rest of the fall season.
Burly Hildreth had the best tournament of his season last week as well, with a season-best round of even par, 72 in the first round.
Kevin Li had a fantastic first round in Stockton as well, carding -3 under, 69 with seven birdies.
This will be the Redhawks' first time competing in any tournament hosted by Saint Mary's.
