SEATTLE – Reigning West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year Will Heimbrodt and 2025-26 All-WCC Honorable Mention selection Junseok Yeo were both named to the 2026-27 Preseason All-WCC Men’s Basketball Team while Seattle University was picked fourth in the Preseason Coaches Poll, the league office announced Thursday.
The Redhawk duo were among 10 players named to the Preseason Team, as Seattle U was one of three schools to have multiple honorees.
Heimbrodt, a 6-7 forward from San Anselmo, Calif., is entering his fourth year with the Redhawks. Last season he averaged 12.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.65 blocks per game, leading Seattle U to a 21-14 overall record and fifth-place finish in its first season back in the West Coast Conference. Heimbrodt finished the year with 90 blocks, a Seattle U single-season record, which also ranked No. 3 in the nation.
Yeo, a 6-8 forward from Seoul, South Korea, returns for his final collegiate season after averaging 12.0 points, 4.0 and 1.6 assists per game for the Redhawks in 2025-26. He was second on the team in three pointers made (52), scored in double figures 21 times and tallied his first career double-double with a 17-point, 12-rebound effort at Santa Clara on Feb. 11.
In the Preseason Coaches Poll, Santa Clara earned nine first-place votes and 81 total points to earn top billing. Saint Mary’s earned one first-place vote and 70 points to come in second. San Francisco was picked third with 58 points, followed by Seattle U in fourth with 54 points and Pacific in fifth with 53 points.
LMU (sixth, 46 points), Pepperdine (seventh, 30 points), San Diego (eighth, 26 points), Portland (ninth, 22 points) and Denver (10th, 10 points) rounded out the list.
