SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Seattle University men’s swimmer Danielis Kvederis has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Kvederis, a senior, opened the new season in impressive fashion, capturing four event victories during a two-day meet in Tacoma. He earned individual wins in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke while helping the Redhawks claim first place in both the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays.
“What a tremendous and well-deserved recognition for Danielis,” said Head Coach Joe Dykstra. “We had a lot of guys perform well last weekend, but he took his early-season swimming to another level. His 200 freestyle was just off his own school record. His relay lead-off 100 backstroke was by far the fastest he’s opened a season in that race, and the time currently leads the MPSF in both the 100 back and for the 400 medley relay.”
The award marks the first MPSF Swimmer of the Week honor for a Seattle U Redhawk since the program rejoined the conference ahead of the 2026–27 season. Kvederis also earned a weekly conference honor last season.
The Seattle U men’s and women’s swimming teams return to action Friday, Oct. 23, when they face Pepperdine and Denver in Malibu, Calif. The two-day meet continues through Saturday.
