SEATTLE – Seattle University Vice President for Athletics Shaney Fink has announced the hiring of Joe Knight as Senior Associate Athletic Director, Revenue.

Knight returns to Seattle University after spending the past several years at the University of Washington, most recently serving as Associate Athletic Director and Executive Director for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). He will oversee revenue growth strategy for Seattle University Athletics, partnering with Fink and the University Advancement team to expand corporate partnerships and philanthropic investment in key departmental priorities.

“Joe brings a valuable combination of relationship building, proven success in generating support for collegiate athletics and a strong understanding of Seattle University,” said Fink. “As we continue to build for the future, having Joe as part of our senior leadership team will be a tremendous asset. We are excited to welcome him back to Seattle U and look forward to all he will bring to the Redhawk community.”

At UW, Knight led university-wide NIL strategy, operations and revenue generation since October 2024. He also served as a Major Gifts Officer from 2021-24.

Prior to his time with the Huskies, Knight spent nearly four years with Seattle University Athletics. He served as Assistant Athletic Director for Development from 2019-21 after beginning his tenure with the department in corporate partnerships.

“I am incredibly grateful to Shaney Fink and the Seattle University leadership for the opportunity to join the Redhawk team at such a pivotal and promising moment,” said Knight. “Seattle U is poised for continued growth, and I look forward to engaging with this great community and helping establish a foundation for long-term success.”

Knight earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Washington in 2016. A three-year varsity letterwinner, he competed in both men’s basketball and men’s track & field and served as a Washington Student Athlete Advisory Committee representative for men’s basketball.

Knight also serves as an advisory board member for the Seattle’s Rotary Boys & Girls Club and was chair of its Scholarship Committee for 2025-26.
