SEATTLE - Less than a week removed from their season opener in Japan, the Seattle University men's golf team begins its stateside campaign, taking on the Ram Masters Invitational from September 10-11. The tournament will take place at Fort Collins Country Club in Fort Collins, Co., and is hosted by Colorado State University.
Competing for the Redhawks will be Elliot Ro, Jacob Kang, Kevin Li, Will Koch and Cade McVicker.
Ro, a freshman, has more than earned the number one spot in the lineup following his collegiate debut in Japan, where he finished fourth individually amongst 127 competitors competing for universities across five countries. Ro carded -9 under, 204 with a best round of -4 under, and finished only two strokes behind the individual champion.
Kang finished a respectable 27th in Japan with +1 over, 214. He was named a 2025-26 All-WCC Honorable mention for his career performance in the WCC Championships last year, where he finished third overall.
Senior Kevin Li finished just outside the top 30 in Japan, but looks to regain his momentum from last season, where he was an All-WCC Honorable mention, won an individual title at The Watney, and finished in the top 10 four times across the season.
Fellow senior Will Koch will be making his season debut, following a strong junior performance. He had a best finish at the Bandon Dunes Championship, where he carded -5 under, 211 for fifth place.
This will be freshman Cade McVicker's collegiate debut. He had an incredibly successful high school career, including being crowned the Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur Champion and being named the Oregon Junior Boys Golfer of the Year in 2025.
This is Seattle U's first time competing in the Ram Masters Invitational since 2018, where the Redhawks finished ninth of 17 teams and Nathan Cogswell and Greg Gionfriddo as Seattle U's top finishers, coming in 25th place.
