SEATTLE – Seattle University cross country is back in action and back in the state of Oregon on Saturday, Sept. 26, competing in the Mike Johnson Classic, hosted by Western Oregon University.
This will make the second time in two weeks that the Redhawks have raced at Ash Creek Preserve after opening the season at the same location on Friday, Sept. 11. On Saturday, the men’s 8k will kick things off at 11 a.m. followed by the women’s 6k at 11:45 a.m.
Seattle U will send seven men and seven women into competition. Racing on the men’s side will be Diego Razo-Castaneda, Casey Miller, Alexzander Osorio, Riley Tricas, Jacob Crisman, Joshua Prince and Connor Ward. All seven competed in the season opener at the same location, though will now face their first 8k of the season after the season-opening 6k competition.
The Redhawk women’s competitors will be Kristina Shkalenkova, Sierra Swart, Cate Bishop, Sydney Brantley, Mira Danish, Johnny Eggert and Gia Petrini. All but Swart competed at the same venue on Sept. 11, racing a 5k at the Ash Cree Collegiate.
Thirteen total teams will compete on the men’s side while 16 teams will race on the women’s side.
