SEATTLE – Seattle University men’s basketball has added 6-foot-2 guard Shaun Stinson to its roster for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
The West Covina, Calif., native joins the Redhawks following a standout prep career that included stops at Bishop Amat High School, Apex International Sports Academy and South Kent School.
As a senior at Apex International Sports Academy, Stinson averaged 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.3 steals per game. He earned back-to-back AISA Most Valuable Player honors and was a First Team All-PEC 6 selection in both his junior and senior seasons.
Stinson spent the 2025-26 season at South Kent School in Connecticut, where he earned All-New England Basketball League (NEBL) honors. At Bishop Amat, he collected multiple All-Tournament Team selections and All-Camino Real League honors.
Stinson also brings extensive club basketball experience, having played with BTI for six years, most recently with BTI United. He competed on the 3SSB and Pro16 circuits and spent one season with IME, representing the Instituto de los Mexicanos en el Exterior at the Nacionales CONADE, Mexico’s national youth championships.
Off the court, Stinson also excelled academically, maintained a 4.5 cumulative GPA and being recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction. Stinson served as student body president throughout his four years of high school, including time at both Bishop Amat and Apex International Sports Academy.
