ALL-TIME RECORD
Saturday’s matchup marks the ninth all-time meeting between the Redhawks and Mustangs and the second consecutive season the teams have faced off. Seattle U trails 2-4-2 in the all-time series but is unbeaten (2-0-1) at home. The teams played to a 3-3 draw in San Luis Obispo last season, with Kyla Schuster and Kailee Wilson each finding the back of the net.
LAST TIME OUT
The Redhawks dominated in all facets of the game but fell to Washington State, 2-1, on Wednesday. Seattle U outshot the hosts 22-7, including a commanding 14-2 advantage in shots on goal. After falling behind early, Leila Leano equalized in the 28th minute, but an own goal in the 66th proved to be the difference in the in-state clash.
ATTACK HELD IN CHECK
For just the third time in the last eight games, the Redhawk offense was held below three goals. Seattle U remains undefeated when scoring multiple goals in a match.
REDHAWKS PICKED 5th IN PRESEASON POLL
The Redhawks were picked fifth in the preseason coaches’ poll entering their second season in the West Coast Conference. Seattle U finished tied for fourth with Gonzaga last season, while U’i Kaaihue was the lone Redhawk selected to the preseason All-WCC Team.
POLZIN NETS FIRST COLLEGIATE GOAL
After battling injuries throughout her four years at the collegiate level, Myah Polzin earned a long-awaited breakthrough Sunday, scoring the first goal of her career in the Redhawks’ 4-1 win over Central Washington.
KAAIHUE CLOSING IN ON TOP 5
U’i Kaaihue is three goals away from breaking into the top five for career goals in the program’s Division I history. Leahi Manthei currently sits fifth, while Stephanie Verdoia holds the program record with 51 career goals.
WILSON TIES KRAFT
With two assists in Thursday’s victory, Kailee Wilson moved into a tie with Kiana Kraft (2011-15) for fourth on Seattle U’s Division I career assists list with 18. Stephanie Verdoia leads the D-I chart with 30 assists, while Jamie French (1990-93) and Ashley Porter (2004-07) share the program’s all-time record with 48.

Hawai’i natives have accounted for 66% of the Redhawks’ points this season, with U’i Kaaihue, Kailee Wilson, Evalani Keawekane, Leila Leano, and Miyah Suster combining for 39 points.
