This will be the first all-time meeting between the Redhawks and Broncos.
LAST TIME OUT
Seattle U continued its dominant homestand with a 6-1 rout of UC Davis last Thursday. Alex Notzka led the offensive charge with two goals and an assist, while Leo Flores scored his first two collegiate goals. Dylan Wojdyla also found the net for the first time in his career, and Aiden Fong added a goal and two assists in the Redhawks’ offensive explosion.
REDHAWKS PICKED 5th IN PRESEASON POLL
The Redhawks slotted in at 5th in the Preseason WCC Poll, as voted on by the league’s coaches. Top 25 teams Portland and San Diego took the top two spots respectively, while Denver rounded out the top three. San Francisco came just a couple points ahead of the Redhawks to take 4th.
NOTZKA NAME PLAYER OF THE WEEK
After a five-goal, one-assist week, forward Alex Notzka was named the West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The junior more than doubled his career goal and point totals in just two matches, while his standout performances earned national recognition with a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week.
1-2 PUNCH
Joining Notzka as an attacking force this season is Aiden Fong, who has recorded three goals and two assists for eight points. Fong is tied for first in the WCC in assists and tied for second in both goals and points. Together, Notzka and Fong have combined for 19 points—seven more than the next-closest duo in the conference.
BIEBER IN THE WIN COLUMN
Levi Bieber picked up his first win in a Redhawk uniform in last Thursday’s match. The Washington transfer made two saves and kept a clean sheet over 85 minutes of action.
