SEATTLE — Seattle University men's soccer erupted for six first-half goals and cruised to a 7-1 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Monday night at Championship Field.
The Redhawks wasted little time setting the tone, scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes and adding four more goals before halftime to build a commanding 6-1 advantage. Seattle U finished with 23 shots, including 12 on target, while holding the Titans to eight shots on goal.
Edgar Leon opened the scoring in the eighth minute, converting a penalty kick to give the Redhawks a 1-0 lead. Less than three minutes later, Aidan Fong doubled the advantage, finishing a chance assisted by Leo Flores and Alex Bazia.
Fong struck again in the 24th minute, this time off an assist from Obasi Thompson, to make it 3-0. The two-goal performance came in just 24 minutes of action for Fong.
Seattle U continued its offensive surge late in the half. Alex Notzka scored his first goal of the night in the 36th minute, assisted by Leon, putting the Redhawks ahead 4-0.
Notzka completed a hat trick in the final two minutes of the half. He scored in the 44th minute off a Tommy Coughlin assist, then found the net again just over a minute later with Allen Saye Blegay Jr. providing the assist. The late flurry sent Seattle U into halftime with a 6-1 lead.

The Redhawks added one more goal in the second half when Bazia scored in the 79th minute, completing the night's scoring and giving Seattle U its seven-goal total.
Seattle U's attack was balanced throughout the night. Notzka finished with three goals on four shots, all four of which were on target. Fong added two goals, while Leon and Bazia each scored once. Six Redhawks recorded points, with Flores, Bazia, Thompson, Coughlin, Leon and Saye Blegay Jr. each credited with an assist.
Goalkeeper Aleksander Kapciak earned the victory after making seven saves and allowing one goal. Seattle U also limited Fullerton to just one corner kick while taking four of its own.
The Redhawks (1-2-0) will keep their homestand going when they host UC Davis on Thursday, Sep 3. Kickoff between the Redhawks and Aggies is scheduled for 7:00pm PT.
