SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Seattle U women's soccer midfielder Uʻi Kaaihue has been named to the West Coast Conference Preseason All-WCC Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

"We're thrilled to see Uʻi recognized with this well-deserved preseason honor," head coach Julie Woodward said. "She's an incredibly special player whose impact goes far beyond her talent on the field."

Kaaihue, a fifth-year midfielder from Maui, Hawaiʻi, is coming off a standout 2025 campaign in which she earned All-WCC First Team honors after totaling seven goals and five assists. She finished second on the team in both goals and points (19), helping lead the Redhawks to a fourth-place finish in their inaugural season in the West Coast Conference.

"Uʻi leads by example every day through her work ethic, competitiveness, and commitment to her teammates," Woodward added. "She's someone our entire team loves and respects, and her style of play is contagious. She brings an energy and joy to the game that elevates everyone around her."

Kaaihue carried that success into the summer of 2026, helping lead Salmon Bay FC to the USL W League National Championship. She was also named the championship match's Most Valuable Player.

Kaaihue and the Redhawks open the 2026 season on Thursday, Aug. 13, with a neutral-site matchup against Kansas State in Hawaiʻi. Seattle U will first play an exhibition against Hawaiʻi on Sunday, Aug. 9, in Kaaihue's hometown of Maui.
