Redhawks to Start Season in JapanRedhawks to Start Season in Japan

SEATTLE - For the first time ever, the Seattle University men's golf team will be teeing off the season with an international competition. The Pan Pacific University Golf Super League Tournament will take place from September 2-4 at Grand Fields Country Club in Mishima, Japan, resting near the foothills of Mount Fuji.

This is the third iteration of the tournament, which is ran and sponsored by the All Japan University Golf Super League and Sports Nippon Papers, and hosted by Nihon University. The 54-hole competition features 12 teams across five countries, including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea and Chinese Taipei.

Competing for the Redhawks will be Kevin Li, Conrad Chisman, Elliot Ro, Jacob Kang and Burly Hildreth.

The team will be looking to continue their momentum from last season, particularly senior Li and sophomore Kang. Li, who earned a 2025-26 All-WCC Honorable mention, won an individual title at The Watney shooting -4 under, 209, propelling him to the top of school record books by claiming the most individual wins in program history. Li finished in the top 10 four times, including eighth at the West Coast Conference Championship.

Kang built momentum throughout the course of his freshman season, finishing as good as 10th place throughout the season before putting up a career performance in the WCC Championship, carding -6 under, 210 to finish third overall above multiple top-50 ranked NCAA golfers, earning him an All-WCC Honorable Mention.

Ro will be making his collegiate debut after a highly accomplished high school career, including three American Junior Golf Association top-five finishes, with a win at the AJGA Junior at Copper Valley Tournament. He had success at the state level as well, being named Washington Junior Golf Association State Match Play Champion this March.
