SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Seattle U women's soccer forward Kailee Wilson was named the West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

"Kailee embodies what it means to be a great captain and teammate," Head Coach Julie Woodward said. "Her high work ethic, leadership, and commitment to those around her make everyone better. She leads by example every day, and this Player of the Week honor is a reflection of the big impact she has on our team."

The senior from Mililani, Hawaii, had a five-point weekend while helping lead the Redhawks to a win over Montana and a draw against Simon Fraser. Wilson opened the scoring against the Grizzlies before assisting U'i Kaaihue on Seattle U's second goal. Against the Red Leafs, Wilson came through again, scoring the equalizer to secure the draw.

The honor is the first weekly award of the season for Seattle U and the first of Wilson's career. She and the Redhawks will return to the pitch Thursday, Aug. 27, when the Nevada Wolf Pack come to town.
