EAST LANSING, Mich. — Seattle U men's soccer dropped its second straight match to open the season Sunday morning, falling 2-1 to Michigan State.
The Redhawks' lone goal came via an own goal by the Spartans, giving Seattle U its first goal of the new season. Michigan State found the back of the net in the 26th and 61st minutes, however, to secure the victory.
Five different Redhawks recorded at least one shot, but none were put on frame. In goal, Aleksander Kapciak made his first start of the season and finished with seven saves on nine shots faced.
Seattle U (0-2) will now turn its attention to its home opener on Monday, Aug. 31, when the Redhawks host Cal State Fullerton at Championship Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT.
