SEATTLE — Seattle U women's soccer took care of business in its 2026 home opener, knocking off Montana, 4-0, Thursday night at Championship Field. U'i Kaaihue recorded a second-half brace as the Redhawks picked up their first win of the new season.

Kailee Wilson got the scoring started in the 33rd minute, taking a pass from Kyla Schuster outside the box and rocketing a shot into the top-left corner of the net, freezing the Grizzly goalkeeper. Schuster would be involved in the next Redhawk goal in the 49th minute, setting up Vivien Villarreal for her first collegiate goal.

Kaaihue would carry SU the rest of the way, netting her first goal of the season in the 59th minute before scoring a golazo on a direct corner kick in the 65th minute. It marked her third career brace and the 18th and 19th goals of her collegiate career.

Not lost in the offensive explosion was Rachael Remnet, who made her first career start in goal. The junior saw minutes in the first two games of the season but made the starting XI for the first time on Thursday. She was called on to make two saves as she earned her first career win.

The victory moves the Redhawks to 1-1-1 on the season. They will continue their lengthy four-game homestand on Sunday, welcoming Simon Fraser to Championship Field. Kickoff between the Redhawks and Red Leafs is scheduled for 4 p.m. PT.
