Seattle U finished the 2025 campaign with an overall record of 4-7-6 and conference mark of 2-4-3. They knocked off San Francisco and Pacific in their inaugural season in the West Coast Conference.
REDHAWKS PICKED 5th IN PRESEASON POLL
The Redhawks slotted in at 5th in the Preseason WCC Poll, as voted on by the league’s coaches. Top 25 teams Portland and San Diego took the top two spots respectively, while Denver rounded out the top three. San Francisco came just a couple points ahead of the Redhawks to take 4th.
THE BROTHERS LEON
Junior midfielder Edgar Leon will share the pitch with a familiar face this season, as his younger brother Aaron signed on as a freshman out of Eastmont High School. Aaron was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Washington during his senior season. Edgar has been a standout through two seasons at SU, being named the WAC Freshman of the Year in 2024 and to the WCC Preseason Team last year.
TOP 25 RECRUITING CLASS
The oncoming freshman class ahead of the 2026 season has received national attention, as the Redhawks were named the #23 recruiting class by TopDrawerSoccer. Mitch Emert, Aaron Leon, Brayden Smith, Zach Hume, Hazem Elmarakby, Obasi Thompson, Leo Flores, and Gage Lambert makeup the stellar class.
DEERLY DEPARTED ATTACK
The Redhawks will enter 2026 with 75% of last season’s goal production gone, highlighted by Yeider Zuluaga who was selected in the MLS SuperDraft by the Vancouver Whitecaps and who led the team with nine goals. Edgar Leon and Patrick Kearney are the only returners who scored multiple goals in 2025.
