REDHAWK HEADLINES

ALL-TIME RECORD
This will be the third all-time meeting between the Redhawks and Grizzlies. The two sides last met last season, a 1-1 tie in Missoula. Seattle U defeated Montana 2-1 in a home match back in 2011.

LAST TIME OUT
The Redhawks ended their season opening trip to Hawai’i with a record of 0-1-1. They dropped their 2026 opener vs Kansas State, 0-4. Next up was a battle with then No. 23 ranked Texas Tech, which Seattle U fought to a 0-0 draw. It was the third time in program history that SU earned a point off a nationally ranked opponent.

30th SEASON FOR WOODWARD
2026 marks the 30th season in the historic career of Head Coach Julie Woodward. The Redhawk Hall-of-Fame inductee has compiled a record of 366-167-72 in her time which ranks top 60 all-time in NCAA history and 36th among active coaches for wins. She is also the all-time wins leader across all sports in Seattle University history.

REDHAWKS PICKED 5th IN PRESEASON POLL
Seattle U was picked 5th in the West Coast Conference preseason poll, as voted on by head coaches. The Redhawks were the only team to receive a first-place vote outside of preseason favorite Pepperdine.

NEW LOOK ATTACK
The Redhawks lost 54% of their top 25 ranked offense last season to graduation. Caroline Penner, who ranked 8th nationally with 17 goals, was the biggest departure production wise. U’i Kaaihue (7), Kailee Wilson (6), and Kyla Schuster (4) are the top returners when it comes to goal production.

LEADERSHIP IN NET
Kassidy Kirgan is back for her fourth season in goal for the Redhawks. The senior from Missoula, Mont., has a career record of 30-16-15 and has made 222 saves in that span. She is tied for 2nd in program history for career wins with Madison Waguespack (2019-22). Briana Smallidge (2012-15) is the winningest keeper in Redhawk history with a record of 51-18-10.

KAAIHUE NAMED PRESEASON ALL-WCC
5th year midfielder U’i Kaaihue was named to the preseason All-Conference team ahead of the 2026 season. The Maui, Hawaii native is coming of a season that saw her score seven goals and assist on another three. She also led Salmon Bay FC to the USL W League national championship over the summer and was named the Final MVP.
