SEATTLE - Rising senior infielder Riley Peschek will stay in the 206 for the upcoming season, joining Seattle U softball from Washington after completing her freshman season at Montana as announced by head coach Geoff Hirai.
Peschek began her collegiate career at Montana, where she was a Big Sky first team and All-Academic Big Sky recipient after starting all 50 games of her freshman season. She held a .320 batting average and paced the team with five home runs and a .622 slugging percentage, while leading the team in extra base hits (24) and RBIs (33) as a first year. In Peschek’s first collegiate season, she tied Montana’s single season record for triples, logging five.
The Fox Island native returned home to Washington for her sophomore and junior seasons, where she appeared in 58 games on Montlake with the Huskies. Peschek saw 42 starts as a sophomore, accruing 22 hits and 21 RBIs. This past season, Peschek saw action in 10 contests, logging two hits and two runs. She was named to this spring’s 2026 Academic All-Big Ten team.
Peschek brings her bat and postseason experience to First Hill, aiding Washington to the Lubbock Regional in 2025.
The Washington native was a three year varsity starter for Gig Harbor HS and named All-League first team all three seasons. Peschek was tabbed GHHS Athlete of the Year, South Sound Conference Player of the Year, Tacoma Athletic Commission Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year and SBLive Washington Class 3A Female Athlete of the Year over the course of her high school career. She graduated from Gig Harbor holding a career .630 batting average, recording 25 home runs, 115 RBIs and 34 stolen bases.
