SEATTLE — Seattle U men's and women's swimming have announced their schedules for the upcoming 2026-27 season, as announced by Head Coach Joe Dykstra. The Redhawks will compete in a combined 10 meets this season, including three home meets at the Redhawk Center.
“We are thrilled with our 2026-27 schedule,” Dykstra said. “It is the most dates of home Division I competition we’ve ever had.”
As is tradition, the Redhawks will kick off the season with the annual Alumni Meet on Saturday, Sept. 26. The event welcomes Seattle U swimming alumni back to the Redhawk Center for a meet and social gathering.
Friday, Oct. 9 marks the official start of the season for both teams. The women will travel to Moscow, Idaho, to face the Vandals, while the men will begin a two-day meet in Tacoma against Puget Sound and Simon Fraser. The women will then face Washington State in Pullman on Oct. 10 before both teams head to California later in the month. The Redhawks will face Hawai‘i in men's and women's competition and Pepperdine in women's competition on Oct. 23 and 24.
The first home meet of the season is set for Saturday, Nov. 7, when Pacific will compete against both Seattle U teams and Air Force will face the women's team at the Redhawk Center. Saint Mary's (Jan. 22-23) and Cal State Bakersfield (Feb. 5-6) will also travel north to Seattle as the season progresses.
Seattle U will once again compete in the Northwest Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Idaho in Boise beginning Thursday, Nov. 19. The three-day event will welcome several highly competitive teams to the Idaho Central Aquatic Center.
“The Northwest Collegiate Invite in Boise will be significantly bigger and faster than it’s ever been,” Dykstra added. “It will give us a great dress rehearsal for the MPSF Championships.”
Both the men's and women's teams return to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) for the 2026-27 season and will compete at the conference championships in late February. The women's championships are scheduled for Feb. 17-20, while the men's championships will take place Feb. 22-25. Both championships will be hosted in St. George, Utah.
“The women’s MPSF with 16 teams competing will be the largest Division I college swim championships ever, so we’ve got to really get ready for an intense competition to get second swims there,” Dykstra added. “Our men are well positioned to compete in an eight-team men’s MPSF.”
